International A-Level (IAL) Curriculum
International A-Level (IAL) Curriculum at Delia Memorial School (Hip Wo)
Delia Memorial School (Hip Wo) offers the Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level (IAL) curriculum, providing students with a robust alternative to the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE). Designed to meet the diverse learning needs of our students, this internationally recognised programme equips them with knowledge, skills, and global outlook to pursue further studies both in Hong Kong and overseas.
During Grade 10 (Secondary 4), students study a broad range of subjects – including English, Chinese, Putonghua, Mathematics, Citizenship and Social Development (CSD), Physical Education, Business, History, and Geography – to strengthen their language foundation and academic skills. From Grade 11 (Secondary 5), students formally commence their IAL studies in the Business and Humanities stream (Business, Geography and History). Moreover, students take IELTS as their English qualification, with examinations completed by the end of Grade 11. Learning takes place in small, student-centred classes, where inquiry-based teaching empowers students to think critically, research independently, and engage with global perspectives.
This curriculum is not only widely recognised by international universities but is also accepted by local institutions through the non-JUPAS route, opening multiple study pathways for our graduates. With the support from our experienced Life Planning Committee, students receive personalised guidance in charting their future development. By launching this Non-local curriculum, our school affirms our commitment to curriculum sustainability, academic excellence, and preparing students to thrive in the interconnected world.
